Comme derniere etape, la Malaisie sera le pays qu'on aura le moins prepare. Quelques pages du routard avant de passer la frontiere thaie nous aidera a organiser notre taxi de Sungai Kolok a Kuala Besut, petit village cotier sans charme mais incontournable pour prendre le bateau jusqu'aux iles Perhentian. D'emblee nous apprecions l'hospitalite des Malais que nous regrettions en Thailande, de plus leur anglais impeccable facilite la communication. Apres une demi-heure de fast boat nous debarquons sur un petit paradis terrestre, Kecil ou la petite ile: sable blanc, eau transparente, cocotiers et jungle... pourtant meme apres un reveil a 5H du mat pour passer la frontiere, les guesthouses sur Long Beach affichent presque toutes complet. Il est 18H30 et Cate me hait de ne pas avoir reserve une chambre la veille. Un petit chalet miteux a 5 euros la nuit fera l'affaire en attendant meilleur. C'est le debut de la saison et il y regne une atmosphere super tranquille, pas de voiture, ni de scooter seuls les bateaux taxis nous permettent d'aller de plage en plage. 'The Temple of the sea' sera le plus beau spot sous marin visite jusqu'ici: murene, requin bambou, requin a pointe noire, raie, coraux multicolores, tortues, poissons perooquets... magnifique! on en ramenerait bien quelqu'uns a Erquy en Bretagne pour colorer le fond!!! ah oui l'eau est toujours a 28 degres et la visibilite de 20m! les iles Perhentian ont ete classees Parc National ainsi que leurs eaux et l'on comprend pourquoi.
